This painting is based on the Wagner Operas of the “Ring Cycle” This painting is the mate to Gotterdammerung. It is based on the second opera in Der Ring Des Nibelungen “Die Walkures”. These are four of the eight sisters that make up the Walkures. They, like their counter parts of the the other painting “Gotterdammerung”, are also gods. Like the matching painting, the dog Jorge, was a favorite pet that I wanted in the painting and had nothing to do with the operas.
